Head of Design & Estimation – IT Infrastructure Solutions

We are now seeking an exceptional Senior Design & Estimation Manager to lead our talented Design & Estimation department and drive excellence in every bid and design we deliver.
In this high-impact leadership role, you will spearhead the end-to-end design, planning, and estimation process for complex, large-scale ELV, ICT and IT Infrastructure projects. Guiding a skilled team of designers and estimators, you will ensure we consistently deliver precise, innovative, cost-competitive, and future-ready solutions that exceed client expectations and secure major project wins.
Job Purpose:
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage, coordinate and monitor the team to generate a precise estimation for ICT & IT systems on time.
- Manage and prepare accurate cost estimation and proposal for all decided projects by carefully reviewing the tender documents, BOQ, specifications. Pay attention to details to get it right the first time and eliminate errors.
- Develop and implement design strategies for ELV, ICT and IT Infrastructure solutions, adhering to client requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure all design documents and technical drawings are accurate, comprehensive, and compliant with project specifications.
- Provide technical expertise in areas such as CCTV, access control, fire alarm systems, structured cabling, AV systems, network infrastructure, and more.
- Manage and alert the sales account manager of any missing information that impedes on time completion; obtain clarification from the client, consultant and contractor to finalize the estimation within the time limit stipulated by the client. If necessary, seek extension where possible with a view to present accurate and competitive estimates.
- Manage and obtain competitive quotes from the market for products and services where required, utilize accurate rates for internal and external manpower, overheads and other elements of costs to prepare a competitive bid that meets the budgeted margins of the company. Ensure competitiveness of the bid by always using current market rates and through effective negotiations with vendors.
- Manage to maintain accurate records of all estimations in stipulated formats, both soft and hard copies, files etc. and clearly identify the revisions for easy reference and retrieval
- Hand over all relevant documents to the Execution Team upon award of the job ensuring proper transfer of all documents and data to facilitate smooth execution. Offer continuous support to Sales and Execution teams where required
- Conducting training to team members on new systems and technologies.
- Preparation of quarterly reports for Management regarding current jobs and forecast.
- Direct and coordinate project estimation activities to ensure accurate pricing and scope definition.
- Review and approve all project proposals, budgets, and cost estimates for ELV and IT Infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Sales, Procurement, and Project Management teams, to align on project requirements, budgets, and timelines.

- Engage with clients, consultants, and contractors to gather project requirements, clarify scopes, and address any design or budget queries.
- Support the Sales and Business Development teams with technical presentations, project proposals, and customer meetings.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for escalations related to design or estimation.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, products, and technologies in the ELV and IT sectors.
- Evaluate and incorporate new technologies into design and estimation practices to maintain a competitive edge.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and technology partners to source the latest products and solutions.
Education/ Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus. With Relevant certifications

- 15 years of experience in ICT systems design, estimation, and project management.
