Job Description

1. Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in line with business objectives and JV agreements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as route expansion, fleet acquisition, partnerships, and investments.

2. Joint Venture & Shareholder Management

  • Ensure compliance with JV agreements, shareholder reserved matters, and governance frameworks.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, performance updates, and investment proposals to JV partners and the Board.
  • Manage dividend planning, capital calls, and inter-company transactions between JV partners.

3. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Control

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain strong financial controls, policies, and procedures.

4. Accounting, Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Manage external audits, tax filings, and statutory submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping, customs, and logistics-related financial regulations.

5. Treasury, Cash Flow & Risk Management

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity across operations.
  • Oversee treasury activities including banking relationships, FX exposure, and funding facilities.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks.

6. Operational Finance & Cost Management

  • Partner with operations and commercial teams to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Implement cost control initiatives and margin improvement programs.

7. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective succession planning and skills development within the finance function.

Desired candidates Profile

  1. 1215+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  2. Strong experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, or other asset-intensive industries.
  3. Proven experience working in a Joint Venture or multi-shareholder environment.
  4. Experience dealing with Boards, shareholders, auditors, and financial institutions.
