Lead and manage the Financial Services and Economics department.
Develop and implement departmental strategic plans.
Ensure full compliance with IGCSE Economics syllabus requirements.
Monitor academic performance and implement improvement strategies.
Prepare students for IGCSE Economics examinations and assessments.
Teach Economics at the secondary level (IGCSE and/or A-Level where applicable).
Deliver engaging lessons
Use data-driven instructional strategies to improve student outcomes.
Integrate real-world financial case studies and simulations.
Update curriculum materials to reflect global financial trends.
Conduct performance evaluations.
Lead departmental meetings and professional development initiatives.
Support teacher training in IGCSE best practices.
Track and analyze student performance data.
Ensure proper documentation for curriculum audits.
Liaise with examination boards and accreditation bodies.
Ensure adherence to GEMS policies and safeguarding standards.
Skills
Qualification:
Master's degree in economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
Experience:
Minimum 57 years of teaching experience in secondary education.
At least 23 years in a leadership or head-of-department role.
Proven success in delivering strong IGCSE Economics results.
