  • Lead and manage the Financial Services and Economics department.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategic plans.
  • Ensure full compliance with IGCSE Economics syllabus requirements.
  • Monitor academic performance and implement improvement strategies.
  • Prepare students for IGCSE Economics examinations and assessments.
  • Teach Economics at the secondary level (IGCSE and/or A-Level where applicable).
  • Deliver engaging lessons
  • Use data-driven instructional strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Integrate real-world financial case studies and simulations.
  • Update curriculum materials to reflect global financial trends.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Lead departmental meetings and professional development initiatives.
  • Support teacher training in IGCSE best practices.
  • Track and analyze student performance data.
  • Ensure proper documentation for curriculum audits.
  • Liaise with examination boards and accreditation bodies.
  • Ensure adherence to GEMS policies and safeguarding standards.

Skills

Qualification:

  • Master's degree in economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).

Experience:

  • Minimum 57 years of teaching experience in secondary education.
  • At least 23 years in a leadership or head-of-department role.
  • Proven success in delivering strong IGCSE Economics results.
