We have partnered with a large UAE-based conglomerate undergoing a significant technology and transformation journey. As part of this evolution, they are looking to appoint a Head of IT PMO to build and lead a best-in-class Project Management Office from the ground up. This is a highly visible leadership role, working closely with executive stakeholders to bring structure, governance and delivery discipline across a complex portfolio of strategic initiatives.
This role is suited to someone who has set up PMOs in complex, multi-business environments and understands how to balance governance with execution. You will play a critical role in shaping how technology investments are prioritised, delivered and measured across the group.
About the role:
- Establish and lead the group IT PMO, defining operating models, governance frameworks and delivery standards
- Own the end-to-end technology and transformation portfolio, ensuring alignment with business strategy and value realisation
- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of project and programme managers
- Implement portfolio planning, prioritisation, budgeting and benefits tracking across initiatives
- Define and enforce project governance, reporting, risk management and control frameworks
- Partner closely with CIO, CTO, business leaders and vendors to drive successful delivery
- Introduce best-practice methodologies, tooling and reporting across the organisation
- Provide clear, executive-level visibility on progress, dependencies, risks and outcomes
About you:
- 12 to 15 years of experience in IT PMO, programme management or portfolio leadership roles
- Proven experience setting up and running a PMO within large, complex organisations
- Strong background in governance, controls and enterprise-level delivery frameworks
- Experience managing large portfolios spanning IT, digital and transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing PMO teams
- Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable operating at C-suite and board level
- Experience within conglomerates, diversified groups or large enterprise environments preferred
- UAE or regional experience is advantageous
