Job Description

Job Summary

The Head of Legal is responsible for leading the company's legal strategy, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and providing legal guidance to senior management. The role oversees all legal matters including corporate governance, contracts, regulatory compliance, disputes, and risk management, with a strong focus on operations in Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the company's legal function and legal team.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to executive management and business leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with Egyptian and Saudi laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Oversee legal aspects related to corporate structuring, subsidiaries, and business expansion in Egypt and KSA.
  • Manage litigation, disputes, and external legal counsel.
  • Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
  • Support business units on regulatory matters, labor law, and commercial law.
  • Ensure proper risk management and legal risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead legal due diligence for partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, or investments.
  • Maintain relationships with government authorities and regulatory bodies when required.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations in Egypt and KSA and advise the business accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) Master's degree (LLM) is preferred.
  • Qualified lawyer / licensed to practice law (preferred).
  • 1015+ years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong experience in corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience working with companies operating in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
  • Experience in multinational or regional organizations is a plus.
