On schedule to open in the United Arab Emirates in early 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island has been created as an opulent and entertaining beachside destination for discerning guests to play and relax. Located less than 50 minutes from Dubai International Airport, this integrated resort offering 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants and lounges, a theatre, nightclub, and five-star spa is currently under construction on a picturesque island that gracefully curves into the Arabian Gulf.
About The Position
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Head of Rigging to join theresort's Entertainment Administrationteam.
Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Lead the team inestablishingand maintaining the safe and consistent operations of all rigging systems for each rehearsal and performance.
- Support the production team byassistingwith the planning and strategy of the load-in and the creative / rehearsal process.
- Develop the strategy and planning for the rigging installation, safety,trainingand operation.
- Install, assemble, hang, construct andmaintainall rigging equipment and show elements such as lighting and scenery.
- Coordinate the overheard stage equipment through load-in and rehearsals in conjunction with audio, automation,lightingand carpentry.
- Participate in theon-goingdevelopment of an inspection of the rigging installations.
- Create andmaintaina fall protection training program in coordination with Technical Management
- Adviseall departments on matters of overhead safety and fall protection.
- Oversee operations of and troubleshoot the rigging systems during rehearsals and performances.
- Monitor all rigging systems and provide adequate oversight and supervision tomaintaina safe environment.
- Establish andmaintaintraining and backup plans to ensure continuity in performance operations for the rigging department.
- Produce yearly department budgets. Manage the department's budgets and capital expense projections and oversee the supply,replacementand inventory of consumables.
- Work with the Resident Director on required changes and ongoing development of the show.
- Document,monitorand update the rigging installation specifications, inventory of rigging materials andequipmentand all pertinent inspection and maintenance records.
- Support the performers at all timesby assisting and guiding their interaction with all show elements and technical staff.
- Support the Executive Director of Technical Operations in creating an atmosphere that maximizes productivity and minimizes costs.
- Establish emergency procedures for show systems with Stage Management and the technical team; ensure all department staffistrained and familiar with these procedures.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of seven (7) years experience as a Head Rigger for a large-scale theatrical or production show.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in conventional theatrical rigging.
- Experience with motorized and manual rigging systems and acrobatic rigging installations.
- Knowledge of sport climbing hardware is an asset.
- Knowledge of fall protection isrequired.
- Knowledge of rigging systems & hardware and fall protection systems & hardware.
- ETCP Certification preferred or willing to obtain in the first year of hire.
