We are looking for an experienced Head of Sales to lead and scale our commercial organization in the UAE. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth and merchant acquisition while building a high-performing and scalable sales team. The Head of Sales will design and execute the company's sales strategy across inbound conversion, outbound acquisition, and account management, ensuring strong pipeline generation, high conversion rates, and sustainable revenue growth.
This role requires a hands-on leader with deep experience in payments and SMB sales in the UAE market, as well as a proven track record in building and managing high-performing outbound sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Sales Performance
- Own overall revenue targets and SMB merchant acquisition goals
- Establish clear sales KPIs and performance metrics across the sales organization
- Drive disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting
- Monitor funnel performance and conversion metrics
- Conduct weekly and monthly sales performance reviews
- Identify gaps in performance and implement corrective actions
Sales Organization Leadership
- Design and build a scalable sales organization structure
- Hire, develop, and manage high-performing sales leaders and individual contributors
- Build leadership across key teams:
- Inbound Sales
- Outbound Sales
- Account Management
- Implement performance management frameworks and coaching programs
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and results
Inbound Lead Conversion
- Own the conversion of inbound leads into paying merchants
- Work closely with the Marketing team to optimize lead conversion performance
- Define lead qualification frameworks and routing processes
- Establish response time and follow-up standards
- Implement inbound sales playbooks and best practices
Outbound Sales Strategy
- Design and scale a structured outbound sales engine
- Define Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP) and market segmentation
- Develop outbound prospecting strategies and messaging
- Build scalable outreach frameworks and sales playbooks
- Establish activity and pipeline KPIs
- Monitor outbound pipeline contribution and performance
Account Management & Expansion
- Build a scalable account management model focused on retention and growth
- Establish processes for renewals, upselling, and cross-selling
- Implement Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key clients
- Drive adoption of additional Fortis products
- Work closely with Customer Success and Support teams
Must-Have Require
- 10+ years of sales experience with at least 5+ years in a senior sales leadership role.
- Proven experience in the payments, fintech, or merchant acquiring industry
- Strong experience selling solutions to SME/SMB clients in the UAE market
- Demonstrated experience building, structuring, and scaling high-performing sales teams
- Proven track record of leading outbound sales organizations and building predictable pipeline generation
- Consistent history of achieving and exceeding revenue and merchant acquisition targets
- Strong understanding of the UAE SME ecosystem and merchant land scape
- Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, partnership, and customer success teams to drive revenue growth
