Head of Trading (Oil, Gas & Petrochemical)

Hays are excited to partner with a significant Oil & Gas trading entity to hire a Head of Trade for their offices in DIFC or the ADGM.

The most suitable candidate would have extensive experience in managing large volumes of imported and exported oil commodities, price negotiation, and risk management. This is an opportunity to lead global trading operations and take control of all buying, selling and hedging of products.

Responsibilities:

• Create and execute commodity trading strategies that are aligned with long-term corporate goals.
• Negotiate and finalize sales and purchase contracts
• Formulate a comprehensive risk-management framework that covers all aspects (operational, credit and market)
• Identify new trading corridors, logistics routes, and product synergies across oil, LNG and LPG

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of practical experience in a oil, gas or petrochemical capacity with a track record of leadership
• Extensive knowledge of trading platforms and tools (ICE, CME, Platts Window, Argus, OTC Markets)
• Bachelor's Degree is mandatory
• Expertise in freight economics, commodity derivatives and pricing mechanisms
• Strong understanding of trade finance tools, contract law and incoterms
