Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Security (HSES) Advisor to support project and operational teams in ensuring effective implementation of HSES management systems and regulatory compliance across industrial and construction environments. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of HSES standards, leadership capabilities, and the ability to coordinate, advise, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure implementation of company HSES management systems in line with established schedules, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain full knowledge of legislative requirements and company HSES procedures (LGMS)
  • Ensure HSES policies, procedures, and information are effectively communicated and consistently implemented
  • Identify, challenge, and correct unsafe acts and conditions in a timely and professional manner
  • Lead and participate in HSES meetings, risk assessments, Toolbox Talks, take 5, and Stop-for-Safety sessions
  • Coordinate HSES activities between management, project teams, subcontractors, and HSES committees
  • Liaise with medical personnel on health and safety matters relevant to project activities
  • Monitor implementation of hazard control processes including TRA, JSA, PTW, take 5, and Stop-for-Safety
  • Work closely with HSES Manager to ensure consistent application of HSES procedures and performance monitoring
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to management on HSES regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Support incident investigations, including reporting, root cause analysis, and close-out actions
  • Ensure proper documentation and retention of all HSES records and data
  • Support HSES induction and training programs for employees and subcontractors
  • Conduct inspections of life-saving and firefighting equipment and report deficiencies
  • Lead and participate in emergency drills and respond to emergency situations when required
  • Monitor and report HSES statistics and performance metrics as per project requirements
  • Support internal and external HSES audits and ensure closure of findings
  • Supervise HSES Officers, review their activities, and implement corrective actions where required
  • Lead HSES team members in execution of company policies and procedures
  • Contribute to HSES departmental KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and information security policies and procedures

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar HSES advisory role, preferably within Oil & Gas, construction, or industrial projects
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) certification is mandatory
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification required
  • Working towards the completion of NEBOSH International Diploma is preferred
  • Strong understanding of HSES management systems and their application in project environments
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Ability to coordinate and lead HSES inspections, audits, and corrective actions
  • Strong communication skills with ability to convey technical HSES information clearly
  • Experience in supervising and guiding HSES teams
  • Ability to monitor HSES statistics, performance trends, and improvement initiatives
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and data management skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders
