Job Description

We are looking for a skilled HSE Officer to manage and maintain health, safety, and environmental standards across our operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in occupational health and safety, incident investigation, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance, with additional knowledge of fertilizers and chemical hazards. This role will also involve liaising with government authorities such as Tadweer and the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) to ensure compliance with all regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures in line with local regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure mitigation measures are in place for all operational activities, including handling and storage of fertilizers and chemicals.
  • Monitor compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards.
  • Lead incident investigations and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide HSE training and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Manage hazardous substances, chemical hazards, and waste safely.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities such as Tadweer and EAD for approvals, inspections, and reporting requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in safety culture and environmental management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent HSE certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an HSE Officer.
  • First Aid and Firefighting training.
  • Knowledge of UAE OSH and EAD regulations and best practices.
  • Experience dealing with governmental authorities like Tadweer and EAD.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fertilizers, agrochemicals, and related safety procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence safe working practices and prevent unsafe behaviors.
  • UAE driving license.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
