Job Purpose
The job holder handles and manages daily Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)tasks. The role includes overseeing Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) for the division, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and conducting site inspections in collaboration with site-specific
HSSE champions. This encompasses various aspects such as Civil Defense, and Occupational Health and Safety matters related to occupants, visitors, and assets.
The Core Responsibilities:
Monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority.
May exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.
Maintains awareness of active and developing situations.
Participate in planning meetings to show any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily work-plan.
Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP).
Onsite inspections to ensure it is a hazard-free environment.
Conducts toolbox meetings.
Reviews sub-contractor's safety plans.
Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
Enforces safety guidelines.
Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
Conducts job hazard analysis.
Proposes the responds to employees safety concerns.
Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste.
Serves as the link between state and local agencies and contractors.
Receives reports from and responds to orders issued by the Department of Labor.
Arranges for mandated testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants.
Support the development of EHSE policies and programs.
Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
Provide training and awareness programs to employees on safety procedures, policies, and emergency response protocols both internally and externally.
Investigate incidents and accidents to find the root cause and implement corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.
Train, organize and manage mock drills in the business.
Conduct regular safety inspections to show potential hazards and risks in the workplace and take appropriate measures to address them and report management about the concern.
Conduct safety meetings and discussions with employees and management to show safety concerns and develop solutions to address them.
Participate/ contribute HSE monthly meetings.
Participate in internal and external audits and take the initiative to provide the closeout reports.
Conduct Safety induction / TBT with newly hired employees, visitors, and contractors.
Review all necessary Safety documentation (such as Method of Statement and Risk Assessment), PPE, Training Certificates and safety work permits on High Risks activities.
Strives to achieve the highest levels of ability on all the competencies and skills needed to perform the role.
Supports in reviewing existing policies and measures to update if required.
Proposes OHS training of employees and executives.
Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
Background & Experience (years)
Minimum 05 years experience
Bachelor's Degree
Suitable HSE Qualification
NEBOSH IGC (Level 3)
Strong understanding of HSSE principles, regulations, and best practices.
Proficiency in HSSE software and Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis and reporting.
