Role Objective:
Responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and continuously improving health and safety practices at QNCC premises and project sites. The incumbent plays a crucial role in minimizing occupational risks, preventing accidents, and ensuring the well-being of QNCC's employees and customers. Develop, implement, and maintain effective health and safety standards, policies, and procedures in line with QNCC's commitment to providing a safe and secure working environment for all stakeholders.
Detailed Roles and Responsibilities
OPERATIONAL
Develop, implement, and maintain QNCC's health and safety plans, ensuring adherence to budgets and timescales.
Communicate safe operational practices and procedures to the workforce, ensuring compliance with QNCC's safety policies, statutory regulations, and guidelines.
Communicate accidents, incidents, and near misses to relevant stakeholders, ensuring timely dissemination of information and promoting a proactive approach to prevent future occurrences.
Identify and report potential workplace hazards, conducting risk assessments to mitigate them effectively.
Act as the in-house trainer for safe working practices, procedures, and site operations, ensuring employees are well-informed and prepared.
Deliver safety induction training to new employees and provide ongoing training to existing staff.
Develop and maintain training and competency records, ensuring up-to-date documentation of employee qualifications and skills.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Allocate work to employees in the health and safety function, nominate for training as per QNCC's
guidelines, conduct performance reviews and manage leave and overtime of staff to ensure efficiency.
Supervise direct reports in their day-to-day tasks and support their performance management by providing appropriate feedback and coaching. Provide recommendations for hiring and promotions.
Hold meetings with direct reports and assess their performance as well as their respective sections overall performance on a regular basis.
Foster a positive and inclusive work culture, and ensure that employees are treated fairly and
respectfully.
Qualifications and Skills
University degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Public Health, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.
NEBOSH Level 6
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Manufacturing industry experience preferred
Valid driving license preferred
ISO-certified Lead Auditor qualification
