JOB PURPOSE

  • First point of contact for guests entering our Gourmet Service areas.
  • Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensure efficient seating arrangements, and contribute to an exceptional dining experience.
  • Create a positive impression and maintain the smooth flow of restaurant operations.
  • Ambassador of the company's wellness and sustainability culture, promote its awareness amongst team members by leading by example and living a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain outstanding communication with all levels of the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, corporate office, guests, ownership.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within own department and all resort departments.
  • Keep updated on all services and programmes available at the resort and promote them to guests.
  • Pro-actively participate in meetings, trainings, committees and community relations activities and programs.
  • Work towards exceeding company's business targets.
  • Take a positive and resourceful and innovative approach to every project.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and welcome guests in a warm and professional manner as they arrive at the Gourmet Service areas.
  • Escort guests to their tables, aid with seating preferences when necessary.
  • Manager the booking list, take note of reservations.
  • Assign tables to optimise the Gourmet Hosts workload and ensure efficient service.
  • Coordinate with the Team Leaders and Gourmet Hosts to accommodate special requests.
  • Take guest reservations and maintain an organised reservation system, ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Confirm reservations in advance and manage any changes or cancelations.
  • Be familiar with the menus, including special promotions.
  • Assist guests with menu enquiries and special requests.
  • Handle guest's complaints in a prompt and courteous manner to guarantee 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with daily reports such as revenue, voids, guest complaints, guest preferences, special guests celebrations, and occasions.
  • Prepare, facilitate and attend departmental and resort meetings as per property's operational guidelines.
  • Be knowledgeable about all resort services, activities and products.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • BA in Hotel Management or equivalent (preferred)

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a luxury resort and in pre-opening
  • Progressive experience in high quality service

Knowledge:

  • Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office and Publisher
  • Hotel information system – Opera, Fidelio Micros Symphony
