Fractional role | Remote | UAE-Based
Our Client is a fast-growing tech startup building innovative, scalable products with a distributed team across the region. As we scale, we're looking for a hands-on HR Business Partner to help shape our people strategy, support leaders, and ensure our culture grows as fast as our business.
This role is ideal for a senior HR professional who enjoys working closely with founders and managers, values flexibility, and thrives in a startup environment.
Role Overview
The HRBP will act as a strategic and operational partner to leadership, supporting the full employee lifecycle while ensuring HR practices are pragmatic, compliant with UAE labour law, and aligned with a high-growth tech culture.
This is a fractional, remote role, with occasional in-person meetings if required (UAE).
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
- Partner with founders and leadership on people strategy, workforce planning, and org design
- Coach managers on performance management, employee engagement, and team effectiveness
- Support scaling initiatives including hiring plans, role design, and capability building
Core HR Operations
- Own and manage HR policies, processes, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law (contracts, terminations, leave, disciplinary matters)
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and probation processes
- Manage employee relations issues with a pragmatic, people-first approach
Performance & Culture
- Design and support performance management frameworks suitable for a startup environment
- Help embed company values, culture, and feedback practices
- Support engagement initiatives and internal communications
Talent & Growth
- Partner with Talent Acquisition (internal or external) on hiring strategy and interview frameworks
- Support career development, learning initiatives, and succession planning (as the company scales)
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with HRBP experience in tech, startups, or scale-ups
- Strong working knowledge of UAE Labour Law
- Experience supporting remote or hybrid teams
- Comfortable working independently in a lean, fast-moving environment
- Strong stakeholder management and coaching skills
- Practical, solution-oriented mindset (not overly bureaucratic)
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus, not required)
