Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate
Social Science educator who is committed to inspiring a love of learning and contributing to the vibrant community at Dubai American Academy, with an
immediate start.
This is an exciting opportunity for Social Science educators who are dedicated to nurturing curiosity, inspiring achievement, and contributing to the success of every student at DAA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive Social Science lessons, in line with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
- Develop and implement creative and effective teaching strategies to inspire a love for Social Science and foster critical thinking skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Ensuring continuity in the delivery of curriculum content.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.
Skills
Successful candidates will need:
- A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in Social Sciences.
- Proven experience teaching High School Social Science preferably within an American/IB curriculum school.
- Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and hands-on Social Science education.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- A strong desire to continually improve their practice and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences for their students.
