Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- NEBOSH / IOSH certification (preferred or required).
- 710 years of HSE experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. HSE Project Leadership
- Lead HSE planning, implementation, and monitoring for assigned projects from initiation through close-out.
- Develop HSE strategies incorporating digital and AI-based solutions.
2. Digital & AI-Driven HSE Management
- Deploy AI/ML tools for predictive risk analysis, incident trend forecasting, and real-time safety monitoring.
- Implement digital HSE platforms (e.g., mobile apps, digital permits-to-work, IoT sensors etc).
- Integrate advanced data analytics to track leading indicators, unsafe behaviors, and compliance performance.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure cybersecurity, data integrity, and system reliability of HSE software.
- Manage HSE management system across the company (GEARS)
3. Risk Management
- Lead advanced hazard identification and risk assessment processes using AI-supported tools.
- Develop mitigation plans leveraging automation, remote monitoring, and digital workflows.
- Ensure risk registers are actively updated and data-driven.
4. Incident & Non-Conformance Management
- Ensure incident reporting, investigation, RCA, and corrective actions use digital tools and analytics.
- Participate in major incident investigations and apply AI to identify systemic causes and trend patterns.
5. HSE Training, Competency & Digital Upskilling
- Deliver HSE training using modern platforms (VR simulations, e-learning, digital onboarding).
- Ensure all personnel complete project-specific onboarding, including digital tools training.
- Promote technology adoption among contractors.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with clients, contractors, regulators, and technology providers regarding HSE and digital compliance.
- Lead HSE/IT integration meetings with stakeholders.
- Develop HSEfocused partnerships with technology vendors, universities, and industry groups.
7. Performance & Metrics
- Define HSE KPIs, including leading indicators enhanced by AI analytics.
- Maintain dashboards, automated reporting systems, and digital audit tools.
- Drive continuous improvement through data insights and system-generated recommendations.
8. HSE Audits & Compliance
- Lead audits using digital checklists, automated scoring, and remote audit tools.
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Monitor contractor digital HSE performance and enforce improvement actions.
9. Emergency Response & Crisis Preparedness
- Integrate digital alerting systems, automated muster tracking, and drone assessment tools when applicable.
- Communicate emergency plans to all personnel and nearby communities using modern digital channels.
10. Innovation & Development
- Keep abreast of new HSE technologies, AI systems, software, and industry standards.
- Pilot new technologies (wearables, sensors, computer vision, etc.) to enhance project safety.
- Contribute to the development of future-ready HSE project management frameworks.
Job Summary
The HSE Project Lead leads the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, and Environment initiatives across HSE assigned projects, with a strong focus on digital transformation, data-driven decision making, and AI-enabled safety systems. She/He ensures that HSE acts as a role model in applying advanced technologies, tools, and global standards.
