Job Description

Job Purpose:

Lead and oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.

Main job duties and responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and continuously update the company's HSE strategy aligned with regulatory requirements and international best practices (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.).
  2. Ensure compliance with Egyptian labor laws, environmental regulations, and industry-specific standards.
  3. Liaise with government bodies, regulators, and certification agencies regarding HSE matters.
  4. Conduct and oversee risk assessments, hazard identifications, and safety audits across all operations including sites, warehouses, workshops, and offices.
  5. Implement preventive and corrective measures for incidents, accidents, and unsafe practices.
  6. Manage emergency preparedness plans, fire safety systems, and crisis response procedures.
  7. Supervise HSE activities for projects related to UPS systems, generators, and HVAC installations to ensure safe execution.
  8. Monitor contractors HSE performance and compliance with company requirements.
  9. Lead accident/incident investigations, prepare reports, and ensure lessons learned are implemented.
  10. Design and deliver HSE training programs, safety drills, and awareness campaigns for all employees and contractors.
  11. Build a strong safety culture by engaging employees at all levels in HSE initiatives.
  12. Ensure proper waste management, emissions control, and sustainable practices in alignment with environmental laws and company standards.
  13. Monitor and report environmental performance indicators, ensuring continuous improvement in sustainability.
  14. Lead the HSE team, providing coaching, development, and performance management.
  15. Perform any additional tasks that might be necessary for easier workflow, within the main frame of the job's specialty.

Educational background and previous experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred). Postgraduate diploma/certifications in HSE is an advantage.
  2. Minimum 8 years of HSE experience, with at least 35 years in a supervisory role within telecommunications, power systems, energy, MEP, or industrial projects.
