Job Title: HV Design Engineer
Location: Dubai / UAE
Job Summary:The HV Design Engineer - Electrical will be responsible for the design, development, and review of High Voltage (HV) electrical systems including substations, switchgear, transmission & distribution networks, and related infrastructure. The role involves preparing design documents, ensuring compliance with international and local standards, coordinating with consultants, clients, and contractors, and supporting the execution of HV projects.Key Responsibilities:Develop and review HV electrical system designs (11kV to 400kV) including substations, switchgear, transformers, and cable systems.Prepare single line diagrams (SLDs), schematic drawings, protection coordination studies, and equipment specifications.Perform load flow, short circuit, earthing, and relay coordination studies using industry-standard software (ETAP, DIgSILENT, etc.).Ensure compliance with DEWA / ADDC / FEWA / SEC regulations and relevant IEC/IEEE standards.Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, design reports, and tender documents.Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and other disciplines for integrated design solutions.Review vendor/contractor design submissions and provide technical clarifications.Conduct site visits for design verification and technical support during construction.Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities for design approvals.Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and project requirements within deadlines.
Qualifications Skills:Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
7& 12 years of experience in HV electrical design engineering (UAE/GCC experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of HV equipment design, protection schemes, and grid interconnection requirements.
Familiar with utility regulations (DEWA, ADDC, FEWA, TRANSCO, SEC).Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills.Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
