JOB PURPOSE

  • Provide technical repair and maintenance in all areas of the property, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, air conditioning, refrigeration, water pumping/circulation, audio visual and outside catering facilities.
  • Ambassador of the company's wellness and sustainability culture, promote its awareness amongst team members by leading by example and living a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain effective communication with all levels of the organization and ensure team members have the necessary support to deliver outstanding service.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, corporate office, guests, ownership.
  • Promote a friendly, dynamic and collaborative work environment that includes, open communication, team work, participation, trust, respect, professionalism and fun.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, trainings, people and community relations and activities and programs available at the property.

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow up on equipment planned maintenance programs and periodic condition monitoring inspections with pre designated checklists in guest rooms.
  • Carry out periodic facilities inspections for condition monitoring and keep People Leaders updated through daily/weekly reports.
  • Participate in the implementation of quality standards for the department.
  • Carry out periodic facilities inspections and checklists for guests and public areas.
  • Attend promptly to guests rooms maintenance requests within 15 minutes time 24/7 and ensure that work areas are kept clear of trip and fall hazards after rendering service.
  • Well versed and knowledgeable of the property's fire evacuation and all emergency procedures as well as health and safety requirements in the workplace.
  • Team member of the property's fire team and take responsive measures in deserving situations as directed by the fire team.
  • Participate in all programs in place that are meant to ensure compliance with legislated health and safety requirements within the workplace.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect information and resolve conflicts.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and rectify them with desired speed and accuracy.
  • Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective equipment and use correct lifting procedures as necessary to avoid injury. Follow hazardous Material management program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals etc. using material safety data sheets. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to Shift in charge.
  • Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Complete appropriate Fire and safety trainings and certifications to perform work tasks.
  • Emergencies To be available for any emergencies and act in a professional manner to protect our cuests, colleagues and preserve the property and its system. Follow Hotel Crises plan.
  • Learn and carry out fire brigade duties when assigned.
  • Communicate each day's activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas and protection of the surrounding area when executing jobs.
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings in case of emergency.
  • Respond immediately to the guests complaints.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Keep all working areas neat and tidy, store tools and materials in a safe and secure place.
  • When working in the guest and in public areas, special attention is required to protect surrounding areas for any damage and inconvenience to the guests. During the site work do not leave any materials and tools unattended.
  • Complete the personal daily job record, time book accurately, and keep ready for inspection.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • Certification from Technical institute (preferred) or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  • Skilled professional with proven experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing HVAC and refrigeration systems. Proven experience in maintenance or engineering in a resort/hotel
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in HAVC and refrigeration systems maintenance, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Experience working with multicultural teams
  • Pre-opening experience

Knowledge:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and fix HVAC system malfunctions in both mechanical and electrical components
  • Proficient in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues.
  • Experience with energy-saving practices and the ability to optimize HVAC systems for energy efficiency.
  • Preferred certification in HVAC systems, refrigeration, or a related field
