ICT Engineer

About the Company

Hire Pals is partnering with a leading international multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy to recruit an ICT Engineer for its Building Design team in New Cairo, Egypt.

About the Role

Working as part of an engineering design team, the successful candidate will lead defined project segments with limited guidance from a Senior Engineer or nominated supervisor. The role also supports statutory-authority approvals, site teams and the development of junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy and quality of own work and that of others before senior review.
• Organise individual and team activities to achieve agreed project deadlines.
• Lead proactive coordination with internal and external design disciplines to deliver consistent, high-quality design documentation.
• Review and coordinate multidisciplinary drawings, design reports, calculations, technical specifications and bills of quantities.
• Ensure documentation required for statutory-authority approvals is complete and delivered on time.
• Attend client meetings and confidently present work to colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
• Provide technical support to site-supervision teams and help resolve design-related issues on site.
• Mentor and provide technical support to junior team members.

Required Skills

• Developed engineering-design skills and a clear understanding of the design process and interfaces between disciplines.
• Relevant project-design experience and the ability to document design intent using a variety of media.
• Strong coordination, presentation and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, together with word-processing and presentation applications.
• Knowledge of applicable standards, codes, statutory-authority regulations and submission requirements.
• Developed understanding of Health and Safety in Design, Fire and Life Safety principles and sustainable design.
• Proactive approach to continuous learning and willingness to mentor junior colleagues.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are advantageous.
