Job Title: Industrial Hygiene Technician

Job Purpose:
Provides functional support for Industrial Hygiene (H) team under supervisor of Industrial Hygienist/Specialist for all programs, conducting I monitoring based on the Health Risk Assessment (HRA) and Exposure Assessment Strategy (EAS) for physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic assessments, permit to work utilization and audit, reporting and I management systems maintenance in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements for assigned facilities, technical advice on H matters to ensure smooth implementation of I programs in the assigned areas.
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Completion of Graduation or a higher technical diploma in I or occupational Health or related field.
- 5 years Industrial Hygiene monitoring experience or equivalent in industry or service sector (Oil and Gas industry, refinery e.g. as Safety Officer performing some of IH duties).
- Good knowledge across all Industrial Hygiene specializations (physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards).
- Experience in conducting IH monitoring across the sites for various IH parameters, report preparations.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with several organizational levels.
- Good report writing skills.
- Audit/assessment skills using auditing management systems.
- Valid Qatar Driving license.
Key Result Areas:
- Support the Industrial Hygiene team with the implementation and execution of the Industrial Hygiene Program.
- To understand the principles of IH and occupational health implementation. Be able to identify workplace agents like physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards.
- Perform industrial hygiene surveys in accordance with the industrial hygiene work program in the areas of physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards.
- Maintains various fixed and portable Industrial Hygiene equipment at COMPANY.
- Records and logs results of monitoring or sampling and reports to Industrial Hygiene team.
- Prepare all industrial hygiene sampling media / consumables and ensure dispatch of samples to external analytical facilities. Maintain inventory of all I consumables /media.
- Provide day-to-day operation & management of the I Laboratory & Equipment.
- Manage all I equipment, including routine maintenance & calibration requirements.
- Liaises with Technicians to support issuing of TW, LJ and other sections (as required) in the operation or other stakeholders for monitoring purposes or information gathering.
- To help in managing all respirator fit testing requirements, including fit testing & record keeping
- Provide day-to-day industrial hygiene support for Plant Technicians & contractors.
- Participate in plant audits related to Industrial hygiene activity, compliance audits, conduct formal audits on IH programs as directed.
- Conducts PTW monitoring on active permits. Provides oversight on Contractor's activities.
- To be actively involved in all monitoring activities during the shutdown from first stage.
- Supports the promotion of Industrial Hygiene awareness through Company operations to enhance compliance.
