Job Purpose:
The Network Operations Engineer supports Network Operations team in delivering on a consistent basis, the professional management of railway network operations and effective leadership of operational safety and train service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- As required, undertake the role of Rail Incident Officer (RIO), overseeing that the command structure is set up and lead the coordination of the infrastructure and service restoration activities. Prepares and inputs all necessary logistic components of the network to ensure proper delivery.
- Develop suitable operational rules, processes and procedures to ensure safe daily railway operations.
- Understand and participate in conducting verification checks within the NP&M department Supports the Network Operations Governance section head in monitoring the performance of the network operations on a regular basis.
- Understand and support the Network Operations Governance section head in Competency Management Systems within the NP&M team.
- Advises the Network Operations Governance section head on resolving network operation issues based on expertise in Engineering.
- Suggests innovative initiatives that assist in reducing network operation issues that may arise.
- Advises Network Operations Governance section head on resolving network operation issues based on expertise in Engineering.
- Support the implementation and development of operational risk mitigation plans, to include Level Crossings, SPADs, Route crime, season's management and other operational activities.
- Participate NP&M compliance with the relevant operational standards, processes and procedures
- Support the Network Operations section head of leading the SAR Operations readiness for the annual seasons and the new operations services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, industrial, civil, or electrical engineering or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
