Alexander Ash are looking for Infrastructure Technical Delivery Manager responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the delivery of IT infrastructure projects and services. This role ensures that infrastructure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with business objectives and technical standards. The role involves close collaboration with engineering teams, vendors, stakeholders, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of infrastructure refresh and decommissioning projects across data centres and regional sites.
- Drive the planning and execution of weekend migration events, ensuring all readiness activities, dependencies, and stakeholder communications are in place.
- Work closely with engineering teams (Linux, Network, Storage, Cloud) to ensure the successful implementation of hardware and platform upgrades.
- Own and manage RAID logs and drive resolution of critical risks and issues.
- Provide clear technical delivery updates to Programme and Portfolio Managers, aligning with strategic timelines.
- Maintain oversight of change control, documentation, and post-migration review processes.
- Collaborate with internal and third-party vendors responsible for hardware/software lifecycle management and refresh execution.
- Contribute to technical runbooks, cutover plans, and standard operating procedures.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years in a technical delivery or infrastructure project management role.
- Strong background in infrastructure migrations, platform upgrades, or data centre operations.
- Prior hands-on experience as a Linux or Network Engineer is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure including:
- Linux/Unix servers, networking (L2/L3), storage, virtualization
- Data centre environments, hardware refresh cycles, decommissioning
- Comfortable managing complex technical discussions and escalations.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) / Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP
- ITIL v3/v4 preferred
- PRINCE2 or PMP a plus
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Resilient and calm under pressureespecially during critical weekend events
- Ability to navigate technical and non-technical stakeholder environments
- Highly organised, delivery-driven, and able to work independently
Additional Requirements
Weekend availability is essential.
- All major infrastructure changes will be executed during scheduled weekend migration windows. The candidate must be able to commit to supporting these activities in real time, including early mornings or extended hours where required.
