Job Summary :
The QC Painting Inspector is responsible for inspecting and verifying surface preparation, coating application, and painting activities to ensure full compliance with project specifications, international coating standards, and client quality requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities :
- Inspect surface preparation, blasting profiles, cleanliness, and environmental conditions.
- Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing ratios, and application methods.
- Monitor coating stages including primer, intermediate, and final coats as per specifications.
- Review and implement ITPs, method statements, coating data sheets, and project standards.
- Conduct WFT (Wet Film Thickness) and DFT (Dry Film Thickness) checks and record results.
- Inspect curing, adhesion, holiday testing, and final acceptance of coated surfaces.
- Ensure compliance with SSPC, NACE, ISO, and client coating requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, corrective actions, and quality records.
- Coordinate with blasting/painting teams, contractors, clients, and third-party inspectors.
- Verify calibration and condition of inspection equipment (DFT gauges, hygrometers, etc.).
- Maintain coating logs, environmental condition records, and daily QC reports.
- Ensure coating safety requirements and material handling procedures are followed.
Mandatory Requirements :
- Diploma/Graduation in Mechanical Engineering.
- NACE Level 2 or SSPC Grade 2 or BGAS Grade 1 (mandatory).
- ISO 9001:2015 QMS Certification (mandatory).
- Minimum 410 years QC experience in coating/painting inspection.
- Strong knowledge of international coating standards (NACE, SSPC, ISO).
- Experience in WFT/DFT measurement, blasting inspection, adhesion, and holiday testing.
- Ability to interpret coating specifications, data sheets, and method statements.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Experience coordinating with EPC contractors, clients, and TPI inspectors.
