Job Description

Job Summary

The QC Welding Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting all welding activities to ensure compliance with approved WPS, project specifications, welding codes, and quality requirements. The role ensures welding integrity, proper documentation, and adherence to safety and QA/QC procedures throughout fabrication and installation.

Salary : SAR7500-8000

Experience : 6-8years

Location : Jubail, Saudi Arabia

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Inspect welding activities including fit-up, root pass, filler, and final weld as per approved WPS/PQR.
  • Verify material identification, consumables, joint preparation, and welding parameters.
  • Monitor welder qualifications, heat input, preheat/interpass temperature, and PWHT.
  • Review and interpret NDT reports (RT, UT, MPI, DPI) and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate with fabrication, construction, and NDT teams for timely inspections and weld clearance.
  • Identify welding defects, raise NCRs/observations, and assist in corrective actions.
  • Review welding documentation, WPS, PQR, welder qualification records, and ITPs.
  • Maintain weld maps, inspection reports, traceability logs, and quality records.
  • Ensure adherence to ASME, API, AWS, and project-specific welding codes and safety practices.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering.
  • 68 years of experience as a Welding QC Inspector in construction, fabrication, or oil & gas projects.
  • International welding certifications such as CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI / BGAS preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) and NDT methods.
