We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer with 1012 years of proven experience in interior fit-out or real estate development, with strong expertise in interior finishes, materials, and detailing. This is a fully site-based role requiring hands-on involvement from tender and design development through to post-contract execution.
The role demands close coordination with project teams, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure high-quality interior spaces and finishes are delivered in line with project specifications, timelines, budgets, and design intent.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the interior design and finishes scope from concept, tender stage, design detailing, value engineering, through to post-contract execution
- Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and finishes schedules; prepare technical inputs for tender submissions
- Develop mood boards, material palettes, finishes selections, and sample presentations for approval
- Ensure proper detailing and application of finishes, materials, and joinery in line with design intent and site requirements
- Coordinate with architects, structural, and MEP teams to resolve design and finishes-related conflicts for seamless site execution
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and mock-ups for accuracy, quality, and compliance with approved finishes
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, finishes quality, and adherence to approved standards
- Support procurement teams during material selection, supplier evaluation, and subcontractor negotiations related to finishes
- Manage design changes, RFIs, and site instructions during project execution
- Ensure project delivery within timelines and budget without compromising design and finishes quality
- Liaise with clients and consultants for material approvals and technical clarifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- 1012 years of experience in interior design, finishes detailing, and site execution, preferably with a reputable fit-out contractor or developer
- Strong understanding of tender processes, IFC drawings, materials, finishes specifications, and detailing
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit (preferred), Photoshop, and MS Office
- Strong technical review, site coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-driven environment
- Willingness to travel across project sites within the UAE
