Job Description

Global Law Firm Expanding Middle East Practice – International Arbitration

Our client is a profitable, mid‑sized international law firm with a well‑established presence across the Gulf. The firm's Dispute Resolution practice is highly regarded, with a rapidly growing international arbitration group acting on complex, high‑value matters for States, State‑owned entities, and major commercial clients.

The team has deep experience across all major arbitral institutions, including ICC, LCIA, SIAC, HKIAC, GAFTA, LMAA, DIAC and others, as well as ad hoc arbitrations under UNCITRAL rules and investor‑state matters before ICSID.

A particular strength of the group is its market‑leading post‑award practice. The firm is frequently instructed to pursue or defend award challenges in domestic courts, often in cases where other counsel acted in the underlying arbitration. Their lawyers are known for deploying robust, strategic approaches to complex enforcement and challenge proceedings.

The practice represents clients across a broad range of jurisdictions, with notable expertise in disputes arising in the Middle East, Asia, Sub‑Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia and the CIS.

The team also advises on investment treaty protections and public international law issues across sectors including energy, infrastructure and natural resources.

As part of the firm's continued investment in the region, the Middle East offices are expanding their international arbitration capability.

They are now seeking to appoint an additional partner who will be based in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Currently be a partner at an international law firm in the region, or Be a London‑based partner seeking to relocate, with a practice that includes a Middle East or Africa focus Bring a credible arbitration practice (commercial and/or investor‑state) with portable relationships Demonstrate strong regional experience or a clear strategic rationale for being based in the Gulf.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast‑growing firm with ambitious plans for its Gulf disputes practice with strong financial performance, and an expanding international platform.
