Job Description

Portfolio Overview

The current investment portfolio spans four main asset classes:

  • Equities
  • Direct Investments
  • Term Deposits
  • REIT Funds

The role requires a professional capable of reviewing, assessing, and optimising investments across these diversified asset classesidentifying opportunities that enhance returns and strengthen overall portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Strategy & Planning

  • Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of investment strategy, asset allocation frameworks, and investment policies.
  • Prepare annual investment plans, performance targets, and financial projections to support strategic decision-making.

Deal Sourcing & Opportunity Assessment

  • Source high-quality investment opportunities across asset classes through active engagement with fund managers, advisors, and market participants.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external managers and industry stakeholders to ensure consistent access to quality deal flow.
  • Lead initial screening of opportunities, analysing strategic fit, financial fundamentals, operational performance, and risk.
  • Conduct market assessments, benchmarking analyses, and sector reviews.

Financial Analysis & Valuation

  • Lead and review financial models, valuation analyses, scenario testing, and sensitivity assessments.
  • Analyse financial statements, market data, macroeconomic trends, and competitive positioning to support rigorous investment recommendations.

Due Diligence & Transaction Execution

  • Manage comprehensive due diligence across commercial, financial, legal, tax, operational, and technical streams.
  • Coordinate advisors and synthesise findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Lead negotiations on commercial terms, investment structures, legal documentation, and governance arrangements.
  • Oversee transaction workflows, approvals, and timely execution.

Portfolio Management

  • Oversee the ongoing management of the investment portfolio to ensure alignment with performance targets and risk frameworks.
  • Monitor performance of investments, maintaining regular engagement with fund managers, GPs, and portfolio companies.
  • Support value-creation initiatives, performance improvement, and portfolio optimisation.
  • Contribute to portfolio valuation processes and preparation of valuation packs.

Risk Management & Governance

  • Identify, assess, and monitor investment and portfolio-level risks in line with approved frameworks.
  • Ensure strong investment governance, accurate documentation, policy adherence, and audit-ready processes.

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Prepare high-quality materials including IC papers, dashboards, performance reports, and market updates.
  • Serve as a key liaison with external managers, advisors, regulators, and internal teams such as Strategy, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.

Team Development

  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute to capability building within the investment function.
  • Support internal policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Investment Management, or related fields.
  • Master's degree (MBA, MSc Finance/Economics) preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA highly desirable.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree: minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree: minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven background in investment consulting, financial analysis, portfolio management, and due diligence.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE and global markets, economic environments, and regulatory frameworks.
