They manage a globally diversified portfolio, play a pivotal role in shaping economic landscapes and hold stakes in various UAE-based companies. This role lies within the telecoms and technology team and offers a unique chance to contribute to the growth and protection of the UAE's financial legacy.
What the job involves
As an Investment Portfolio Manager in the Telecoms & Technology sector, you will:
- Drive and optimise value creation in portfolio companies by identifying opportunities and executing value creation plans.
- Regularly monitor asset performance, ensuring companies are on track, mitigating potential issues.
- Develop sector strategies, detailed sector screens, and coordinate with M&A for deal origination.
- Supervise associates in supporting deal executions and contribute to all sector-specific and commercial topics.
- Support the sector head in overseeing strategy, budgeting, risk, talent, compensation, and M&A initiatives.
- This role is approximately 80% portfolio management focused, reporting into the Telecom Director and managing the fund's large telecom companies and related sub-sectors.
Who we are looking for
- Extensive career experience in the sector (TMT) either in a similar industry role or a managerial position in investment or consulting
- Investment experience in the region is essential
- Demonstrated success in M&A (e.g. corporate M&A)
- Master's degree in Economics, STEM, or other relevant fields.
- Fluency in Arabic is advantageous but not essential
