Role Description This part-time remote role as an IT Application Operation Specialist at BEM Africa focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and usability of critical business applications. The specialist monitors application environments, responds to incidents, and performs routine health checks to maintain high availability and optimal performance. Responsibilities include providing end-user support, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating with development and infrastructure teams, and assisting with application updates, configurations, and releases. The role also involves documenting operational procedures, contributing to process improvements, and supporting business stakeholders in understanding application capabilities and limitations. Collaboration, clear communication, and adherence to security and compliance standards are essential in day-to-day work.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to diagnose issues, interpret system logs, and identify root causes in complex application environments.
Candidates should possess Application Support skills to manage incident resolution, perform routine maintenance, and assist with configuration and deployment activities.
Candidates should possess Information Technology skills, including familiarity with common operating systems, databases, networking basics, and security best practices.
Candidates should possess Technical Support skills to provide effective remote assistance to users, document solutions, and communicate technical information clearly.
Candidates should possess Business Process understanding to align application operations with organizational workflows and contribute to process optimization.
Experience in application operations, IT service management (e.g., ITIL), or SaaS environments is beneficial.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are required.
A relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
