Summary
The IT Data Centre Facility Specialist role is critical for the management and setup of data centres and communication rooms, ensuring that physical infrastructures for critical IT systems are designed, maintained, and secured effectively.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the design and setup of Data Centre Facilities and IT Communication Rooms.
- Ensure high-availability IT networks through structured cabling standards.
- Implement rack designs and layouts aligned with operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with Tier classifications for IT environments.
- Design and manage UPS systems for IT continuity.
- Oversee security infrastructure including access controls and environmental monitoring.
- Implement fire detection and suppression systems for IT safety.
- Calculate heat dissipation and cooling requirements based on IT loads.
- Apply airflow management best practices in data centres.
Key Requirements:
- Structured Cabling experience
- Hub Room and Rack Design expertise
- Familiarity with IT Room Tier Classifications
- UPS system management skills
- Knowledge of Security Infrastructure
- Fire Safety Systems understanding
- Calculations for cooling capabilities
- Expertise in Airflow Management
