A leading, government-backed energy infrastructure organisation is seeking a Director Corporate IT to lead enterprise IT strategy, governance, and service performance across a large, asset-intensive environment.
This role reports to executive leadership and owns the full Corporate IT portfolio, including strategy execution, service operations, vendor governance, risk management, and enterprise platform oversight.
Responsibilities
- Translate business strategy into a funded IT portfolio with clear timelines and measurable outcomes
- Lead enterprise service management (availability, SLAs, capacity, resilience)
- Govern CapEx / OpEx budgets, financial transparency, and benefits realisation
- Oversee vendor & MSP performance, commercial accountability, and optimisation
- Drive IT risk management, audit readiness, and compliance frameworks
- Lead disaster recovery and cyber resilience planning with security teams
- Establish operating model clarity across IT pillars and delivery teams
- Provide executive dashboards, risk visibility, and decision support at SVP level
- Lead and develop a multi-layer IT leadership structure (40+ FTE)
Requirements
- 12+ years in senior IT leadership roles
- Proven experience managing managers and enterprise-scale portfolios
- Strong background in IT strategy, governance, and service operations
- Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or other regulated industries preferred
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, Azure, ServiceNow or equivalent)
- Governance certifications (ITIL, PMP/PRINCE2, COBIT) advantageous
