Purpose of the Role
To oversee and mentor multiple Scrum teams, ensuring consistency and excellence in Agile practices. This role coordinates activities across teams, implements scaled Agile frameworks, and acts as a force multiplier for Agile adoption within the software PMO.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Team Coordination: Oversee 2-3 Scrum teams, ensuring alignment and consistency in practices. Facilitate Scrum of Scrums and coordinate release planning.
- Mentorship & Coaching: Coach and mentor Scrum Masters and Agile teams on advanced practices, estimation, and workflow optimization (e.g., WIP limits).
- Scaled Agile Implementation: Help implement and coordinate scaled Agile approaches (SAFe, Scrum of Scrums) across several teams or programs.
- Process Optimization: Analyze Agile metrics across teams to identify trends, drive improvements, and resolve cross-team dependencies and conflicts.
- Stakeholder & PMO Alignment: Work closely with the PMO and business stakeholders to align team delivery with strategic objectives and portfolio goals.
- Advanced Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor team performance and health.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in equivalent Agile roles.
- Demonstrated success facilitating multiple Scrum teams or complex Agile projects.
Skills:
- Expert knowledge of scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS).
- Advanced proficiency in Agile metrics and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong conflict resolution, mediation, and facilitation skills for large groups.
- Ability to influence without authority across teams and stakeholders.
Certifications (Mandatory):
- Advanced Scrum Master certification (e.g., A-CSM, PSM II, CSP-SM).
Certifications (Desired):
PMI-ACP, SAFe Program Consultant (SPC).
