Job Context:
The IT Quality Specialist would work closely with business, product, and technical teams throughout the SDLC to ensure quality across web, mobile, and API platforms. The position supports end-to-end testing activities, including automation and manual testing, and contributes to release readiness by providing quality metrics, defect insights, and compliance with QA best practices and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business and technical requirements to develop comprehensive test strategies covering automation, functional, non-functional, integration, regression, UAT, and performance testing across web mobile &API layers.
- Create and maintain detailed test cases, scripts, test data, test plans, and related documentation aligned with user stories and technical specifications.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent frameworks.
- Develop and execute API test scripts using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, JMeter, or similar to ensure backend integrity and performance.
- Execute manual and automated tests across web, mobile, and API layers, including system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing validate business requirements.
- Identify, document, track, and manage defects using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps, ensuring clear, reproducible defect logs with supporting evidence.
- Validate bug fixes, perform retesting, and ensure impacted functionalities are adequately covered through regression testing.
- Prepare and share test execution reports, coverage metrics, defect summaries to provide quality insights with stakeholders.
- Participate in release readiness assessments and go/no-go decisions to ensure quality standards and provide key QA metrics such as coverage metrics, defect summaries etc to ensure data driven decision making for deployment
Ensure adherence to SDLC and QA best practices while contributing to continuous improvement of testing processes and automation frameworks.
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Master's degree is preferable.
- Quality testing certification(s) (e.g., ISTQB, Azure QA etc.)
Work Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of minimum experience in IT software testing using quality management
- Experience of software development, testing mission-critical and complex, scalable and software solutions.
- Proven experience in test automation of testing types (functional, non-functional, UI, API, performance, security).
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency with automation tools: Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, Appium (for mobile), etc.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps.
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured).
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
- understanding of frameworks like Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, LeSS, etc.
- Skilled in tools like JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, and testing frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral & written)
