Java Backend

Location- Riyadh (looking for local based candidates)

Experience- 5 to 10 years

Contract Tenure- 3 months

Job Description-

• Design, build, and maintain backend microservices using Java and Quarkus
• Develop and consume REST/reactive APIs within a distributed microservices architecture
• Implement caching, session, and performance-sensitive logic using Redis
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests; maintain code coverage standards using JaCoCo
• Enforce code quality and formatting standards
• Implement structured JSON logging for observability and traceability
• Participate in contract testing to ensure safe integration across services
• Collaborate using GitLab workflows — feature branching, merge requests, hotfix sequencing, and release coordination
• Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment
• Work with Maven-based project builds
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies
• Debug and resolve production issues in a regulated banking environment, following change management protocols

What We're Looking For

• 5-8 years of professional backend development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java
• Experience with Quarkus or comparable frameworks (Spring Boot, Micronaut) — willingness to work in Quarkus is essential
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture patterns (service decomposition, resilience, API contracts)
• Experience with Redis or similar caching/in-memory data stores
• Familiarity with reactive programming concepts
• Practical experience with unit/integration testing frameworks and code coverage tooling
• Experience with Git/GitLab branching strategies and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of contract testing practices
• Exposure to Maven build systems
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed systems
• Good communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional squads

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in banking, fintech, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with API gateways and security patterns for financial services
• Exposure to structured logging/observability tooling
