Job Description

Looking for a proactive, hands-on, and highly reliable Accountant / Bookkeeper who is excited to take ownership of the local finance setup and help shape scalable accounting processes from day one. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment, thrives on responsibility, and wants to contribute far beyond day-to-day bookkeeping.

Your Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) process
  • General ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
  • Support of year-end closing and statutory financial statements
  • Payroll accounting, salary postings, and coordination with external payroll providers
  • Preparation and submission of UAE VAT returns
  • Support of corporate tax filings and tax documentation
  • Regular management reporting to headquarters, including: Income Statement (P&L), Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Working Capital
  • Ownership of banking, treasury, payment runs, liquidity monitoring, and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with UAE / Dubai accounting, tax, and finance regulations
  • Coordination with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, payroll partners, and authorities
  • Support the implementation and continuous optimization of finance systems and reporting tools
  • Active involvement in process development, internal controls, and finance workflow implementation

Your Profile

  • 2–5 years of accounting / bookkeeping experience in Dubai / UAE
  • Solid knowledge of UAE VAT, payroll, accounting compliance, and local finance regulations
  • Commercial apprenticeship, diploma, or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Strong practical knowledge of Dubai-specific regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Very good English communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP / finance systems (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Odoo, or similar)
  • Highly self-driven, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Strong ability and motivation to develop know-how autonomously
  • Interest in building, implementing, and improving finance processes
  • Structured, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing start-up setup
