The Opportunity
The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for supporting statutory valuations, US GAAP valuations, experience studies, and actuarial analysis across the Levant region. This role is essential in ensuring highquality actuarial reporting that supports MetLife's commitment to financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and customer-centric decision-making.
How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
- Carry Out and Support Actuarial Valuations Lead statutory valuation tasks under IFRS4/IFRS17, ensuring all required information is collected, reviewed, and delivered on time.
- Create High-Quality Actuarial Analyses Create detailed actuarial entries, trend analyses, and performance reviews for US GAAP quarterly and monthly valuations.
- Oversee Experience Study Processes Oversee annual experience studies (mortality, lapse, expense, interest, persistency), ensuring data accuracy and comparability with prior years.
- Manage Coordination with Internal and External Stakeholders Manage communication with auditors, regulators, and internal departments while coordinating sign-off with the Appointed Actuary.
- Develop Assumptions and Actuarial Insights Develop best estimate assumptions for statutory and GAAP valuations, as well as Value of New Business (VNB).
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate with the Production Team, Product, and Corporate Solutions to ensure timely delivery of results and clarity in actuarial explanations.
What You Need To Succeed (Required Qualifications)
- At least one completed exam toward ASA, SOA, or UK Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent), enabling effective contribution to actuarial reporting and analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to prepare actuarial models, reports, and analyses.
- Strong analytical abilities to conduct valuations, reasonability checks, and experience studies.
- Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support other actuarial areas as needed.
- Fluency in English.
What Can Give You An Edge (Additional Skills)
- 03 years of experience in actuarial work, preferably within valuation or financial reporting.
- Knowledge of local valuation regulations, supporting smooth statutory reporting.
- Ability to interpret data trends, identify anomalies, and propose actuarial recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and a high sense of ownership.
