As transaction volumes continue to grow, we are strengthening our compliance function by hiring a Junior KYC Analyst to provide dedicated onboarding support and enhance our operational and regulatory framework.

Role Overview

The Junior KYC Analyst will support the MLRO and Compliance Officer in executing AML/CFT and client due diligence obligations.

This role focuses exclusively on operational onboarding activities, enabling improved turnaround times, enhanced client experience, and reinforced compliance oversight.

The MLRO retains full regulatory accountability. All onboarding decisions remain subject to formal review and approval.

Key Responsibilities1. Client Onboarding & KYC Review
  • Conduct preliminary review of individual and corporate onboarding documentation
  • Verify identification documents (validity, certification, consistency)
  • Review corporate documentation (legal existence, ownership structure, directors, authorised signatories)
  • Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and potential red flags
  • Prepare onboarding summary notes for MLRO review
2. Documentation Completeness & UBO Verification
  • Cross-check onboarding files against internal KYC checklists
  • Ensure documentation aligns with client classification and risk rating
  • Confirm proper UBO identification and ownership mapping
  • Track and follow up on outstanding documentation
3. Screening & Adverse Media
  • Conduct sanctions screening
  • Perform PEP screening (including close associates and family members)
  • Conduct adverse media searches
  • Document findings and escalate potential matches to MLRO
4. Source of Funds / Source of Wealth Review
  • Assess SOF/SOW documentation for plausibility and consistency
  • Identify insufficient or inconsistent evidence
  • Prepare structured SOF/SOW review summaries
5. Risk Assessment Preparation
  • Complete internal customer risk assessment templates
  • Evaluate and document risk factors
  • Identify high-risk indicators
  • Submit assessments for MLRO validation
6. Compliance-Related Client Communication
  • Request missing documentation
  • Clarify discrepancies
  • Maintain documented communication trails
  • Escalate sensitive matters prior to outreach where required

  • Oversight & Governance Framework

    The MLRO retains full accountability for:

    • AML/CFT compliance
    • Client onboarding approvals
    • Risk classification
    • Regulatory reporting

    All operational work is subject to structured review and documented supervision.

    No client may be onboarded without formal MLRO sign-off.

    Authority & LimitationsThe Junior KYC Analyst May:
    • Conduct initial due diligence reviews
    • Perform screening and adverse media checks
    • Request documentation
    • Prepare risk assessments and onboarding summaries
    • Identify and escalate red flags
    The Junior KYC Analyst May Not:
    • Approve onboarding independently
    • Approve high-risk classifications
    • Waive documentation requirements
    • File Suspicious Activity Reports
    • Communicate with regulators

    All onboarding decisions remain subject to MLRO approval.

    Ideal Candidate Profile
    • 1–3 years of experience in KYC, AML, or compliance
    • Strong understanding of AML/CFT principles
    • Experience reviewing corporate structures and UBO mapping
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
    • Comfortable working within a regulated financial services environment
    • Strong documentation and communication skills

    Experience within DIFC-regulated entities or financial institutions is advantageous.
