To maintain a competitive advantage as we grow, we are currently looking for a new Junior Performance Testing

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to support the planning and execution of performance testing for applications, making sure they work well under different conditions. As a junior team member, you will help test how fast and reliable the applications are by running performance tests, checking results, and reporting any issues. You will work closely with developers, testers, and other team members to help find and fix problems that could slow down the system. You'll also learn best practices in performance testing, monitoring, and reporting, while growing your skills and contributing to the team's success at Geidea.

Key accountabilities

  • Help design and maintain test cases that focus on how well systems perform in real business situations.
  • Support the team in identifying performance problems in applications and assist in testing solutions
  • Follow technical guidance to help adjust settings and configurations that improve system performance.
  • Assist in setting and tracking performance baselines and help create reports to highlight issues.
  • Support the team in checking whether performance goals are met before new features are released.
  • Work with DevOps and QA teams to make sure performance testing is part of the regular development and deployment process.
  • Learn and contribute to setting up tools and processes for automated performance testing in the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Ensure basic performance reports are ready and shared with the relevant squads as needed.

Must have qualifications:

  • 0- 1 year of experience in software testing, with some exposure to performance testing preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, with an interest in learning proper test documentation and reporting practices
  • Basic understanding of performance testing concepts and tools (e.g., JMeter).
  • Understanding of basic programming principles (e.g., loops, conditions, functions).
  • Exposure to or working knowledge of tools like:
  • Jira for task tracking
  • Postman and Swagger for basic API testing
  • Selenium for test automation
  • Basic knowledge of mobile testing tools is a plus
  • Hands-on experience or training in manual testing, with some exposure to automation testing.
  • Willingness to learn and test both Front-end and Back-end systems.
  • Understanding of the Agile development process and how testing fits into Agile workflows.
