Position Overview
We are looking to hire a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor (QS) to manage cost planning, estimation, and financial control for ongoing and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will support the project team by ensuring accurate cost management, efficient procurement, and strict budget control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and project budgets in line with project requirements
- Review drawings and specifications to assess material, labor, and time requirements
- Evaluate, analyze, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness
- Measure quantities accurately and verify work progress at project sites
- Assist in the preparation and submission of invoices, interim payments, claims, and variation orders
- Monitor project expenditures and maintain effective cost control systems
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Identify potential cost overruns and provide timely reports and recommendations
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to project costs and contracts
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- 13 years of relevant experience, preferably in landscaping or construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word) and QS-related tools/software
- Good understanding of construction contracts, measurements, and billing processes
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines
