Role Overview
The Retail Kitchen & Wardrobe Designer will be part of the Retail Design Team, responsible for creating and developing kitchen and wardrobe designs within a showroom environment. This is a design-focused role with approximately 30% client-facing responsibilities, combined with technical follow-up, site coordination, and installation support to ensure design integrity and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Project Development
- Translate client needs into high-quality design concepts aligned with brand standards
- Develop layouts, compositions, finishes, and functional solutions for kitchens and wardrobes
- Prepare moodboards, concept visuals, and detailed technical drawings
Client Presentation and Support
- Present design proposals professionally and clearly
- Showcase showroom products and customization options
- Support Sales Executives during client meetings (excluding pricing and contract closure)
Showroom Interaction
- Maintain a polished, professional presence and excellent communication skills
- Deliver a welcoming and trust-driven showroom experience
Site Coordination and Installation
- Coordinate with installation teams to ensure accurate execution
- Resolve site issues while maintaining design intent
- Oversee quality control and ensure client satisfaction
Manufacturer Coordination and Orders
- Prepare and transmit accurate orders for cabinetry and accessories
- Verify measurements, specifications, and materials
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Installation teams
Software and Tools
Metron, Virtuo, AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, rendering software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Canva
Requirements
Experience
- Proven experience in retail design (kitchens, wardrobes, furniture showrooms)
- Client-facing presentation experience
- Site supervision and installation follow-up
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Metron and/or Virtuo
- Excellent AutoCAD skills
- Proficiency in Photoshop and rendering software
