Laboratory Specialist

Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for performing and observing lab tests under supervision of senior specialist or supervisor. Records the results accurately. Uses and maintains all laboratory equipment correctly. Apply rules of quality management, infection control and safety for laboratory.

• Perform laboratory test procedures according to manufactures instructions either manually or automated.
• Responsible for centrifuging specimens to separate cells from sediment, serum or supernatant fluids.
• Follows standard precautions at all times.
• Calculates results and documents observations.
• Reporting of panic results value and charged to the physician
• Monitors inventory level, orders materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures, count order upon receive.
• Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Skills:

• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled
• Completes annual education requirements.

Education and Experience:

A minimum of:

· Bachelor of Medical Technology or Master Degree in faculty of Science.

· Registration Certificate by the Saudi Council for Medical Specialties.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate.

· (2 years) experience is preferable.
