Job Purpose

The Process Engineering Group Leader will lead and develop a high-performing team of process engineers to drive continuous optimization of manufacturing processes across key areas: Hot Mill, Cold Mills, Scalper, Can Recycling Unit, and Utilities. This leadership role focuses on improving process efficiency, yield, quality, throughput, cost reduction, and energy utilization while providing strong technical support to the production teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep expertise in metal processing, capable of fostering innovation, ensuring safety and compliance, and delivering measurable results in a fast-paced industrial environment. The process engineer manager will also act as process engineer for the Can Recycling Unit and Utilities.

Key Accountabilities

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Metallurgical).
  • Project-program management education.
  • Process optimization Industrial Efficiency.
  • Understanding of recycling technologies, scrap classification, and conditioning methods.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in metallurgical testing, data interpretation, and troubleshooting processes.

Minimum Experience:

  • 812+ years of progressive experience in process engineering within metals manufacturing.
  • 5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role leading engineering teams.
  • Proven track record of process optimization, yield improvement, cost savings, and technical problem-solving in high-volume production environments.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience leading or significantly contributing to large Capex projects in industrial settings (new lines, major upgrades, or expansions), including full cycle involvement in commissioning phases (pre-commissioning, cold/hot commissioning, performance trials, and handover to operations
  • Familiarity with automated control systems (Level 1/2 automation in rolling mills).

Skills:

Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat/mass transfer, process control systems, and data-driven optimization.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams; strong analytical/problem-solving mindset; project management experience.

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel for customer visits, audits, and industry events.
  • Fluency in English required; Arabic is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-tech industrial environment.
