Legal Counsel

About the Role

Reporting to the Group General Counsel, this role will be responsible in providing critical support on in-house legal services to the Management, Functions and Business Units throughout IHH Group.

Responsibilities

To provide comprehensive legal support for the following areas:

• Mergers & Acquisitions
• Joint Ventures
• IP/IT Contracts and Projects
• Review of Vendor, Service Provider and B2B Contracts
• General Corporate/Commercial Transactions
• Dispute Resolution Management and litigation
• Advise on regulatory and legal issues generally.

Work closely with the IHH Management and Business Units to provide legal support for all transactions and matters and to achieve the commercial objectives of the business in a legally compliant manner, taking into account the risks involved and with appropriate risk mitigation.

To act as liaison person between internal stakeholders and external counsel in relation to external legal advice and its interpretation and management of legal costs.

Actively monitor and report on legal trends and laws allowing for timely anticipation of new requirements and their potential impact on the organization as well as the preparation of appropriate responses.

Stay up-to-date on relevant legal and regulatory developments/changes.

Perform any other related tasks as and when required or directed by Management and Group General Counsel from time to time.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's of Laws (LL.B) or higher qualifications with minimum 7 to 10 years of experience as legal practitioner in a law firm or in-house counsel.
• Good command of English in written and spoken.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong persuasive abilities.
• Use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and guidance.
