Job Purpose
To provide structured legal, contractual, and compliance support across the Group by managing routine commercial contracts, supporting governance frameworks, and monitoring regulatory risk exposure across multiple jurisdictions. The role ensures legal integrity in day-to-day operations while enabling business growth through commercially practical and risk-balanced advice.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Management
- Review, draft, and negotiate routine commercial agreements including NDAs, vendor agreements, service contracts, consultancy agreements, partnership agreements, and internal memoranda.
- Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies within approved risk thresholds.
- Escalate complex or high-risk contractual matters to the Head of Legal.
- Maintain and continuously improve standardized legal templates and clause libraries.
- Track contract lifecycle stages including execution, amendments, renewals, expirations, and terminations.
- Maintain an organized and centralized contract repository.
- Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, and Commercial teams to ensure contractual compliance and alignment with business objectives.
2. Legal Advisory & Departmental Support
- Provide timely and practical legal advice to stakeholders across departments including Commercial, Operations, HR, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Technology.
- Conduct legal research on regulatory developments across GCC and other operating territories.
- Prepare structured legal opinions, advisory notes, and risk summaries.
- Support the Head of Legal in group-wide legal initiatives, strategic projects, and cross-border matters.
- Liaise with external counsel as required and monitor deliverables and cost efficiency.
3. Policy & Governance
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating internal operating policies across all departments and territories.
- Ensure policies remain aligned with evolving regulatory requirements and business needs.
- Support governance initiatives to strengthen internal control frameworks.
- Maintain documentation of legal processes, policy approvals, and compliance records.
4. Compliance & Risk Management
- Conduct routine legal and regulatory risk assessments across business functions.
- Assess applicability of laws and regulations in each operating territory and advise on compliance obligations.
- Monitor compliance with labor laws, commercial laws, consumer protection regulations, licensing requirements, and other relevant frameworks.
- Support preparation of responses to regulatory authorities (if applicable).
- Deliver internal compliance awareness sessions to employees.
- Maintain a compliance tracker covering licenses, filings, and renewal timelines.
5. Reporting & Escalation
- Prepare periodic compliance and legal exposure reports for the Head of Legal.
- Monitor legal risk trends and escalate material risks promptly.
- Support development of legal dashboards or risk summaries for leadership review.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB required).
- 46 years of relevant legal experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
- Exposure to multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments preferred.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation capability.
- Strong analytical, research, and documentation skills.
- Ability to translate legal concepts into clear and commercially practical advice.
