Overview
As a Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining our
Linux-based systems. Youll ensure our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and performing optimally. The
role will also include DevOps responsibilities such as automation, CI/CD processes, and infrastructure
monitoring. In addition, some hands-on network hardware engineering will be required to support the
firms datacenter and connectivity needs.
- Linux Setup and Configuration:
Deploy and configure Linux-based systems to meet performance, security, and scalability
requirements in a high-frequency trading environment.
Use command-line tools to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize systems efficiently.
Configure and manage networking tools and settings on Linux systems to ensure smooth
system communication.
- System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve system hardware and software
issues to maintain uptime.
Maintain system security by applying patches and updates, ensuring compliance and
system integrity.
Automate configurations, patch management, and deployments using Ansible or similar
tools.
Own and drive automation workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as
code.
- Network Hardware Support:
Deploy and maintain network switches, routers, and related systems as needed, such as
switches, routers, and firewalls in datacenter environments.
Skills
- Solid experience with Linux server setup, configuration, and administration.
- Strong command-line skills for managing and troubleshooting Linux systems.
- Experience working with Red Hat or other enterprise-grade Linux distributions.
- Familiarity with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Proficiency in Linux networking tools and an understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and
routing.
- Basic experience with network hardware installation and diagnostics.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator, with exposure to
DevOps workflows and physical network infrastructure.
- Certifications: Relevant Linux certifications (e.g., LPIC, CompTIA Linux+) are a plus.
