Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Linux System Administrator / DevOps Engineer to manage, secure, and optimize our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux environments, automation, cloud platforms, and modern DevOps practices. This role requires hands-on experience in system administration, performance tuning, and infrastructure scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, SUSE).
  • Implement and enforce Linux security hardening, access controls, and compliance standards.
  • Automate routine system administration tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Deploy and manage configuration management tools including Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization environments (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox).
  • Work with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, LXC, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and manage monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
  • Manage system logs and ensure proper log analysis and retention policies.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Git, and Jenkins.
  • Configure and manage networking components including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Linux system administration and DevOps practices.
  • Relevant certifications such as RHCE, LPIC-2, CKA, or ITIL Foundation are highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Linux OS internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps tools.
  • Solid knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices.
  • Experience in automation, configuration management, and container orchestration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with OpenShift or enterprise Kubernetes environments.
  • Exposure to DevSecOps practices.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and auditing processes.
