Azure / Microsoft 365 Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Contract: 12 Months (Extendable)

Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly capable Azure / Microsoft 365 Engineer to join a leading Abu Dhabi-based technology and digital transformation organisation delivering large-scale data, AI, and cloud-driven programmes across the region.

This role will support a secure, enterprise-grade Microsoft cloud environment and play a key part in strengthening infrastructure resilience, identity governance, and collaboration platforms within a highly regulated and security-focused ecosystem.

The successful candidate must be technically strong, security-minded, and comfortable operating within mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Azure (IaaS / PaaS) within enterprise-scale cloud environments
  • Administer and optimise Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, RBAC, and identity governance frameworks
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Security & Compliance policies
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager
  • Support Zero Trust architecture initiatives
  • Lead or support tenant migrations, hybrid integrations, and cloud transformation projects
  • Develop automation and reporting scripts using PowerShell
  • Provide advanced L3 troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Ensure adherence to security baselines, audit requirements, and governance standards
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation and knowledge transfer

Required Skills & Experience

  • 58+ years of experience in Microsoft infrastructure and cloud engineering
  • Strong hands-on Azure administration experience (enterprise environment)
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance configuration
  • Experience implementing Conditional Access, MFA, and identity protection policies
  • Solid understanding of cloud security best practices and governance frameworks
  • Experience supporting highly secure or regulated environments
  • Strong stakeholder communication and documentation capability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • Security-related Microsoft certifications
  • Experience supporting AI-driven, analytics, or large-scale digital transformation programmes
