Job Brief:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to support plant operations at a metal smelting and recycling facility in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background inElectrical or Mechanical Engineeringwith relevant experience in themaintenance of furnaces, kettles, electrical systems, and various plant machinery.This role requires handson technical expertise, problemsolving skills, and the ability to work effectively within a maintenance team to ensure high plant availability and reliability.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities across the plant to ensure machinery operates reliably and safely.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems, including furnaces, kettles, motors, drives, pumps, and other rotating and static equipment.
- Coordinate and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Ensure maintenance work complies with safety, quality, and environmental standards applicable to plant operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and machine history.
- Assist in root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and production teams to schedule maintenance work with minimal disruption to production.
- Supervise and mentor junior maintenance technicians and contractors when required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and plant uptime.
- Monitor key maintenance performance indicators and provide reports to management as required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+years of experiencein maintenance engineering within a metal smelting, refining, or heavy plant environment.
- Experience working withtin or lead processing equipmentis mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical systems, industrial furnaces, kettles, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Handson experience in plant machinery maintenance, troubleshooting, and industrial maintenance best practices.
- Excellent problemsolving, analytical, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
